About Me
This page is about me. If you want to learn about this site and how and why it came to be, please click here.
My name is Rachel. I am a BC born and bred girl, but almost 5 years ago I jumped ship and planted myself in the tobacco chewing, boot wearing, province of wide-open-spaces: Alberta.
Many people couldn't understand why I would leave the luscious green beauty of Vancouver Island. For me- it wasn't what I was leaving behind (friends and family), it was what I was coming for. Alberta in 2006 was booming- it was a golden province of dreams, with plenty of job opportunities and very good wages. Plus, I was doing what every other single girl in her early 20's does: finding herself a man!
And I did just that. I met my other half in 2008, and we were married in 2010. During that time I studied hard to finish my psychology degree, worked full time in municipal governent, practiced cooking and baking, and prepared myself for the inevitable: becoming a mother and a farm wife in rural Alberta.
I love to read, write, cook, bake, sew (I am just learning), quilt, gardening (again, just learning), spring showers and babies. Welcome to my little corner of the world.
