When I was 20, I set out on a journey.
The journey originally started in Perth, Australia, on September 7th, 2004.
The decision to go travelling was made rather abruptly. It was spring, and I remember sitting and chatting with one of my roomates and good friends Kala, about how badly she wanted to go back to Australia and do some backpacking. We were both in our second year of college at the time and taking a break from the studies for some sight seeing and adventure was exactly what we needed. We took on a "why not" attitude, and set out saving and planning.
That fall I left my home in Nanaimo, BC with 3 friends and a fairly healthy bank account. My trip was meant to be short, but it ended up being much longer than anticipated.
Unfotunately, I did not start writing a blog until nearly a year later, in August 2005, just as my travels in Australia were ending, and those in Asia beginning.
*Disclaimer* - The entries below were often written from internet cafe's when I was short on time and paying for every minute of my internet usage. I have not gone back through these to make spelling or grammar corrections.
