November 21st, 2005 - Cambodia It Is
Phnom Phen
Left Saigon this morning at 6:30am for another long and lovely day in the luxurious comfort of an over-crowded Asian bus. We crossed the border into Cambodia and it was a very long day.
We were meant to arrive in Phnom Phen at 12 but because it took a while at the border we didn't get there until 1pm. (either that or we got skanked into thinking it took longer that it really did- we paid $8 extra for the "ëxpress" bus) Upon arrival in the Cambodian capital we could hardly get off the bus because of all the beggars and moto (motorcycle taxi) drivers crowding around the bus ready to get our money off us. It took us 30 seconds to say "lets get out of here!"
So we hopped on the 1:30 bus for the 4 hour ride to Sihanoukville which is the beach destination in Cambodia. We arrived when it was dark, but I can tell this place is gonna be good. 5 beaches, waterfalls, a market and cheap, nice rooms. What more could you ask for??
So we're here indefinatly for some serious sun and sand.
Until next time
